Hello and welcome to Finya’s Tavern in the Old Town!

The one and only medieval tavern in Nuremberg. Within its walls, an open fireplace, candles and lanterns illuminate the restaurant and its rustic wooden furniture. Electric light is dispensed with as much as possible. Our staff serves you dressed in authentic linen clothing. The tavern building itself is part of an ensemble of some twenty medieval timbered houses that adorn the Weißgerbergasse.

The Weißgerbergasse is a reflection of the historical town of Nuremberg, in particular an old craftsman’s quarter inside the castle quarter. Its name derives from the tawers, who lived in this area in medieval times and used alum, table salt, flour, eggs and olive oil to work raw animal skin into smooth, bright leather.

Monday: closed

Tuesday: 5:00pm – 11:00 pm

Wednesday – Thursday: 5:00pm – 12:00 am

Friday – Saturday: 5:00 pm – 1:00 am

Sunday: 5:00pm – 11:00 pm

Food is served until 10 pm on all days.

For the hungry guests during later hours, we offer stews, soups, lard-bread as well as the smoked and cheese platters until 11 pm on weekends only.
